Villa Futuro

ABSTRACT

Villa Futuro is the story of a fictional slum of the future. Organized around a digital platform villafuturo.com (officially lauched this year) the story of this fictional slum is told through different narrative media formats of digital media and artistic participation in form of a transmedia storytelling. The research deals with the possibilities of art practices and media technologies to explore, enquire and foster the potential of the collective narratives in precarious urban communities in order to imagine a future together.

Gonzalo H. Rodríguez is a media artist and an independent artistic researcher based in Berlin. In his work he explore diverse forms of narrativity as processes of fictionalization. Currently, he is working on an artistic research project dealing with a fictional precarious city of the future called Villa Futuro.
